Homecoming Celebration at the Children’s Learning Center Made Special with Visit from Roosevelt HS Students
The annual Homecoming celebration at the Children’s Learning Center has become a tradition that is so loved and enjoyed by the students and staff here at CP Nassau and the students and faculty from Roosevelt High School who are our special guests for the event.
The Roosevelt students actually march over from school and when we hear the drums around 10 am, we know they’ve arrived, and the fun will get started! How exciting to see the dazzling dance team, the marching band in their official uniforms, the cheering squad smiling ear to ear and the football team in their jerseys ready to play.
CLC Classes made fun banners and our playground area was looking festive with hundreds of pumpkins and bales of hay, mums and happy scarecrows on display, donated by our friends at Old Mill Nurseries in Bellmore.
The students from Roosevelt welcomed the CLC kids and band members let them bang on the drums and hold flutes and saxophones! The cheerleaders made little aspiring cheerleaders happy when they shared their pom-poms and you could see lots of kids and staffers copying the dance team’s moves and swaying to the music that had everyone feeling so happy. The football players tossed the footballs around and CLC students just loved every moment and made some impressive catches that had the big guys impressed!
Just about everyone declares that this is their FAVORITE day of the year! CP Nassau and the CLC say a great big thanks to all at Roosevelt High School who made this fun, amazing day possible and now it officially feels like Fall!
