The Group Site- Based Day Hab program held their amazing carnival today and it was magnificent!   Day Hab participants were treated to a real carnival experience with thanks to the hard-working staff who make it their goal to bring happiness always!

There was a comfortable breeze that cooled off the recreation area near the Gazebo and the air was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly cooked burgers, jerk chicken and fries!   Homemade funnel cakes, cotton candy as well as fruity smoothies at the “Tiki Bar” added sweetness to the day.  Do you know that we had a wheelchair accessible dunk tank so that everyone could get in on the fun?!

Peter Dolan, our Assistant Executive Director got things started and got saturated by staff and participants, all in good fun.  Diana Sanchez, Oceanside Hub Coordinator, and good sport extraordinaire,  volunteered to sit in the dunk tank and made lots of people laugh and smile as she got doused by the buckets of water!  Cherie Crosdale, Site-Based Day Hab coordinator was hard at work grilling burgers and spinning cotton candy as she enjoyed everyone seeing the fun decorations and carnival games she created along with Recreation Specialist Grace Cayetano and other staff and participants.  Thank you to other staff members who prepared and cooked food for the event.

The classes held fundraisers to come up with money to cover the costs of the fun event.  The happiness that resulted was priceless!
