April 22 was designated Earth Day and participants in the Community Based Day Hab (CBDH) program at CP Nassau did their part in a big way!

The CBDH group volunteered with the Roosevelt Community Garden group (led by a community volunteer named Jane) to clean up the 72 acre Roosevelt Preserve located along side CP Nassau. Jasmine Harris, Coordinator of CBDH commented, “We had a blast! The guys were so proud to see the difference they made, removing lots of garbage and helping to keep the environment clean. They were most excited to see turtles in the river, sunbathing on a rock.”

The participants were Kim, Jefferson, Laurent, Jose and Frank assisted by staff member Cameo.  All had a great day and made a very meaningful contribution to this important effort.
