Candle-Making for a Cause Fundraiser Held on Dec 9 at Halarosis Shop
We are grateful to Joanna V, owner of the Halarosis Candle Shop at the Roosevelt Field mall who put together an event to help raise funds to benefit programs at CP Nassau. “Halarosis” is Greek for “relaxation.” Joanna’s sister Patty is a participant at the CP Nassau Adult Day Program and this is why Joanna was inspired to help in this creative way!
This fun-filled candle-making event welcomed people from morning till evening in the beautiful store that is filled to the brim with lovely candles in every scent you can imagine! People enjoyed making selections about every aspect of the candle they were making including choosing the scent (or scents) they loved, the type vessel to pour the wax into such as glass, ceramic in a variety of colors and textures. Once that was all decided, each person could choose from baskets of decorative trims such as rhinestones and ribbons to adorn and personalize their candle.
Thank you, Joanna, for your support and caring! You are helping to make a difference at CP Nassau and we are grateful!
