CP Nassau is Honoring Joel Meltzer with the 2023 “Harold Jay Greenberg Torch of Leadership Award”
Where can one find Joel Meltzer? Why at CP Nassau of course! Joel is a current member and Treasurer of the CP Nassau Board of Directors, a member of the CP Foundation Board, serves on the CP Nassau Budget and Finance Committee, has been a member of CP Nassau since 1997, is a lifetime Council of Auxiliaries Member, and Committee Member and Journal Chairman of the CP Nassau Forget-Me-Not Ball Committee.
Joel, who is the proud owner of Meltzer Accounting & Tax Service for the past 50 years, has always seen to the accounting and tax needs of individuals and small businesses, with his niche being special needs accounting. In addition, Joel has been affiliated with the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) for the past 35 years.
Joel was honored by CP Nassau with the Corporate Leadership award at the 2007 Dignitary Awards Luncheon. He was listed in Madison’s Who’s Who in 2006, received the NYS Assembly Citation from Ann Carrozza in 1989, received the Town of Oyster Bay Citation in 2007, and received a Certificate of Appreciation from the American Diabetes Association for the years 2007-2011.
Joel is the Fundraising Chairman for ARC XVI Senior Center in Washington Heights, is a member of the TSINY Board of Directors, is a Board Member and Fundraising Chairman for Temple Beth El of City Island, and is Chairman of the Board of the Ranachqua Foundation, which serves the Boy Scouts. Joel is involved with the Bayside Business Association, Melville Chamber of Commerce, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Plainview Chamber of Commerce, and Accountant-Attorney Network Group.
When Joel is not working or giving back to the community, he can be found at concerts, Broadway plays, jazz concerts, Mets games or traveling with his girl friend, Fern.
