Distinguished Service Award
Dr. Michael DeAngelis, D.O.
Dr. Michael DeAngelis has been chosen to receive the Distinguished Service Award because he is a leader who inspires others to work hard, be compassionate, smart and caring in their work with individuals with disabilities.
Dr. DeAngelis was a guiding light for the agency during the COVID 19 pandemic, fighting on the front lines with staff and residents. Even contracting COVID-19 did not sway him from serving the people supported by CP Nassau. After he was diagnosed he still answered every call because, as one staff member commented, “he cares for the residents. . .like he would his own family.”
Dr. DeAngelis continues to set the standard at CP Nassau, providing the highest level of care for the individuals with disabilities and going above and beyond to secure resources for individuals with disabilities. He does so with such genuine compassion that he inspires everyone around him to do their best.
Dr. DeAngelis’s ability to cultivate an atmosphere of teamwork has had a tremendous and positive impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. He leads with 100% care and compassion.
