CLC student artists’ design featured on the Theresa Foundation Holiday Card

Dec 19, 2023 | Blog, Children's Learning Center

The Theresa Russo Foundation held a contest to come up with a design for their holiday card with a theme of “Candy Cane Lane”.  The Children’s Learning Center submitted a few designs by students and were thrilled to find out that one of our entries was chosen as the winning design. The contest was open to other organizations and about 40 designs were submitted.  The art was done by Danny and Deyvi from class 538 and incorporates a happy greeting on a communication device and drew a walker made with candy canes!  This card is certain to bring awareness and a smile to all!

Susan Russo and the Foundation’s Executive Director, Elizabeth Einhart visited CP Nassau and presented a gift card to the two student artists.  A check for $2,500 was also presented to the CLC as a result of having submitted the winning art.   The artists along with and Kevin Loughlin, the school’s Principal also received a supply of cards for them to give out.

Major congrats to Danny and Deyvi for this special recognition! Major thanks and appreciation to the Russo Family and the Theresa Russo Foundation for this opportunity and for all the generosity and support they consistently provide to CP Nassau and to other organizations around the country who do things to help individuals with disabilities!
